Update after writing conferences

Well during my group's writing conference I learned that I have a ways to go beforeI have a good essay on my hands. As brought up by Emily and Professor Thompson I plan on defining a citizen and world citizen in my essay, a crucial part I left out. Also I plan on maybe using some out side knowledge of international institutions like the UN to help futher my point. Also I must further explain my last part of my thesis where I explain the world culture and citizen and compare it to Chris Adams to it

  1. I would suggest to not use outside information, because at least what Prof. Thompson told me was to find the information in the blog. Though, maybe if you cannot find more information just ask a question and let that spark in the reader. It is nice to be able to think about something from the text while you are reading.

  2. I would suggest not spending so much time and space in your essay on the cultures of Spain, India, and Brazil, especially if you're going to add information about the UN. That is more dry knowledge than analytical insight, and I don't think it's essential to your paper. I can see why you might want to talk about the UN-- as it's one organization made up of many different countries and cultures; I think it will be a good way of approaching what it means to be a world citizen. I'll be interested to see what you do with it.

  3. I really enjoyed your presentation and was impressed by how far your argument is coming since our writing conference. Whew hoo!

I didn't see a reflection on your presentation though. What did you learn from the experience? What would you do differently?
